Springdale School Community Association
The Mission of the Springdale
School Community Association is to preserve and enhance the
Springdale School property in cooperation with the Corbett
School District and facilitate its use for cultural, educational
and social opportunities for a broad spectrum of the Springdale/
Corbett Community.
A message from the SSCA President
On Tuesday, March 30th, the president of Springdale School Community Association met with Mr. Bob Dunton, Superintendent of Corbett School District and other administrators. At that time, Mr. Dunton explained he was informed by Multnomah County’s Compliance Officer that the use of the Springdale School is illegal. Mr. Dunton said he was told to either present a plan to bring Springdale School up to code or fines would be levied if the facility remains in use. To meet the current county code improvements it will be very expensive and difficult given the county’s short time frame.
The task of finding out how to make the Springdale School compliant has been a project of SSCA.

Save Springdale School Capital Campaign
Corbett School District (CSD) would like to sell its properties that are not directly related to educating students and is willing to sell Springdale School to the Springdale School Community Association (SSCA).
The SSCA has been working to restore and maintain the school for community use for the past three years. The logical next step to Save Springdale School is for SSCA to purchase the building and property. We have launched a campaign to raise funds through pledges and grants.
The Springdale School purchase will be a two-phase process. First, SSCA will work with Multnomah County and contractors to see what upgrades need to be made to meet county codes and correct safety issues. If the cost is within the realm of possibility, we will continue with the purchase from CSD. The second phase will be raising funds for the actual purchase.
Please help our community realize this dream! Select here to print and fill out the Pledge Form. If you want more information, please call Gary Law at

Our School Building Projects
Since the late 1990s, various projects have been
completed by volunteers to keep Springdale School a viable
community center that we can be proud of. These include replacing
water damaged walls and framing, replacing ceiling tile in
the gymnasium, exterior painting, east walkway repairs, parking
lot sealing, flag pole restoration, plumbing repairs, landscaping
and annual flowerbed maintenance. Learn
